Pytxo account (optional)
What signing in adds, how CLI and Desktop sign-in work, and what is shared.
Pytxo never needs an account for local work. Runs, Review, Apply, pytxo land, receipts and Pybench all work signed out. A free account adds hosted perks:
| Perk | How |
|---|---|
| Share a receipt as a public page | pytxo receipts share <id>, or Share receipt in Desktop after Apply |
| Keep shared receipts across machines | Listed on your account page |
| Publish Pybench results to the board | pytxo bench --submit |
| Early access to Team | Design-partner invitations go to signed-in accounts first |
Pytxo Pro adds private receipts, unlimited shared receipts and private Pybench results.
Sign in from the CLI
pytxo loginPytxo opens your browser at pytxo.com/account/connect. Sign in, check that the page names the Pytxo CLI, and choose Connect. The browser hands a one-use code back to the CLI on 127.0.0.1, and the CLI exchanges it for an account credential.
The exchange uses PKCE: the code only works together with a secret the CLI generated and never sent to the browser. The credential lasts 30 days and is stored in ~/.pytxo/account.json (readable only by you on macOS and Linux). On a machine without a browser, set PYTXO_NO_BROWSER=1 and open the printed address yourself.
pytxo whoami # who is signed in, free or Pro, and whether the credential still works
pytxo logout # revoke this machine's credential and delete itSign in from Desktop
Open Settings → Account and choose Sign in. The same browser page opens; after Connect, your browser asks to open Pytxo Desktop. The credential is stored in the operating system's credential manager.
What is shared
Nothing leaves your machine until you share or submit.
- A shared receipt contains the decision, mode, counts (inputs, files, shared files, conflicts), check pass counts, agent labels, timing, the Pytxo version and the receipt digest. It never contains commands, branch names, check output, file contents or the repository name. File paths are included only with
--include-paths. - A Pybench submission contains the summary numbers, your operating system, CPU architecture and CPU count.
Shared receipts are public to anyone with the link and are not listed anywhere else. Delete one from your account page. A free account keeps 25 shared receipts; delete one to share another, or upgrade to Pro.
Pytxo Pro
Pytxo Pro is $12 a month and adds:
| Perk | How |
|---|---|
| Private receipts: only you can open the page, signed in | pytxo receipts share <id> --private |
| Unlimited shared receipts (free accounts keep 25) | Automatic |
| Private Pybench results, kept off the public board | pytxo bench --submit --private |
Upgrade from your account page or Plans. Dodo Payments is the merchant of record: it takes the payment, sends the invoice and handles tax. Manage billing on your account page opens Dodo's portal for invoices, your payment method and cancellation; Pro stays on until the end of the month you paid for. See Terms and Refunds.
Pro never changes what runs locally. A lapsed subscription keeps every receipt you already shared, including private ones; it only stops new private items and sharing past the free limit.
An account credential cannot read your code, run agents, spend money or change billing. It only creates and lists your shared receipts and Pybench submissions.
